DEPB Scheme Allows Imports at Additional Seaports, Airports, and ICDs with Specific Conditions and Procedures
Imports under the DEPB Scheme are now permitted at specified additional seaports, airports, and ICDs beyond the port of registration, subject to conditions. DEPB holders registered at designated ports including Mumbai, Calcutta, Cochin, Kandla, Mangalore, Chennai, Nhava-Sheva, Vishakhapatnam, and airports such as Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Calcutta, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Chennai, as well as ICDs at Bangalore and Delhi, may import goods at any of these locations. This extension applies only to imports, not exports, and imports at other ports must occur at the port of DEPB registration. The process requires issuance of a Telegraphic Release Advice from the port of registration to the importing Custom House, detailing the goods and DEPB particulars. The importing Custom House reports back to the issuing Custom House, which maintains import records.
