of <h1>Duty Exemption Pass-book holders can import via Mumbai or Chennai ports with TRA under Customs rules</h1> The circular permits holders of Duty Exemption Pass-book (DEPB) scrips registered at Hyderabad Airport or Hyderabad ICD to import goods through Mumbai and Chennai ports, deviating from the standard requirement that imports and exports occur at the same port of registration. This facility applies only to imports, not exports. Imports under this scheme will be authorized via a Telegraphic Release Advice (TRA) issued by the Customs House at the port of registration to the Customs House at the import port, detailing the goods, DEPB serial number, issue date, and duty entitlement. The Customs House issuing the TRA must maintain a register recording import details. This measure aims to provide flexibility for DEPB holders registered in Hyderabad while ensuring proper documentation and control.
