of <h1>Customs circular updates EHTP unit rules for re-export, duty exemptions, and re-import timelines under new uniform procedures</h1> The circular realigns procedures for Export Oriented High-Tech Park (EHTP) units inside and outside the complex, and units in Export/Free Trade Zones, to ensure uniformity in customs notifications. It authorizes Assistant Commissioners of Customs to permit re-export of goods, exempts duty on goods used for worker training and on waste destroyed with permission, and allows re-imported goods for repairs, reconditioning, or re-engineering within specified timeframes-one year for goods not taken by foreign buyers and three years for goods imported for repairs or modifications. These provisions aim to harmonize earlier notifications and facilitate operational flexibility for these units. The circular directs wide dissemination of these changes through public notices.
