Customs Staff Deployment at ICDs and CFSs Sanctioned on Cost Recovery Under Set Staffing Norms
Customs staff deployment at Inland Container Depots (ICDs) and Container Freight Stations (CFSs) approved by the Board will be sanctioned on a cost recovery basis, with specific staffing norms set by the government. ICDs approved for export only will have seven customs staff members, while those handling both import and export will have thirteen. Initially, custodians may request fewer officers than the sanctioned strength for certain positions, subject to the Commissioner of Customs' approval, with full staffing to be implemented as business increases. Commissioners may accept advance cost recovery charges for the actual number of staff posted, with deposits covering up to three months. Public notices are to be issued to inform all stakeholders of these arrangements.
