A178 (S.C) The Supreme Court granted leave in Petition for Special Leave to Appeal (Civil) No. CC 2832 of 2002 filed by Tamil Nadu Kalyana Mandapam Association against the Madras High Court judgment. Madras High Court ruled that the tax levied on services provided by Mandap Keeper does not fall under specific entries in the Constitution.
