<h1>Supreme Court directs High Court to expedite pending writ petitions, maintains interim order</h1> The Supreme Court directed the High Court to expedite the hearing and disposal of pending writ petitions listed for final hearing. The Special Leave ... Petitions pending in the High Court - The interim order which was passed by the Court continue to operate till the disposal of the Writ Petitions in the High Court - Request the parties not to seek for an adjournment in the High Court unless there is any unavoidable circumstance and compelling reason. The Supreme Court of India directed the High Court to expedite the hearing and disposal of all pending writ petitions listed for final hearing on 15-2-2011. The Special Leave Petition was disposed of, with the interim order from 10-1-2011 to remain in effect until the High Court's decision. Parties were advised not to seek adjournments unless absolutely necessary.
