Amendments to Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act clarify High Court forum and link order effect to receipt timing.

The Act is amended to add the High Court where the office of the Initiating Officer is located as a forum when the aggrieved party or, where the Government is aggrieved, any respondent, does not ordinarily reside, carry on business, or personally work for gain within the jurisdiction of any High Court. The amendments also replace wording in the procedural provisions so that the operative timing of an order is defined by the date on which the order is received by the Initiating Officer or by the specified person.
