Registration of appeal: procedural endorsement and defect-rectification rules permit refusal or extension based on Regional Director discretion.

Registration of appeal under the LLP Rules requires the Regional Director to endorse receipt and sign the appeal; appeals found in order are registered with a serial number. If defects exist the appellant is notified and given a minimum period to rectify; failure to do so permits the Regional Director to refuse registration with written reasons and prompt communication. The Regional Director may extend the rectification period for sufficient cause, on written reasons.
