Authentication of translated documents requires certified English translations and specified overseas or India-based authentication. All documents filed by foreign companies must be in English or accompanied by a certified English translation. Translations made outside India must be authenticated by the official custodian of the original or a Notary Public and, for certifiers from non-Commonwealth countries, receive further diplomatic or equivalent official authentication. Translations made within India must be authenticated by an advocate entitled to appear before a High Court or supported by an affidavit from a person the Registrar deems competent in both languages.
