Presumption of authenticity for material found during searches: documents are treated as belonging to and authored by the possessor.

Material found in the course of a search or survey is presumed to belong to the person in whose possession or control it was found; the contents of books and documents are presumed true; signatures and handwriting are presumed to be those they purport to be; and documents purporting to be stamped, executed or attested are presumed duly stamped, executed or attested. The same presumptions apply to material delivered to a requisitioning officer as if it had been found in the person's possession or control.
