Member resignation requires written notice to the Central Government and continued service for up to three months.

A Member may resign by written notice to the Central Government; unless permitted to relinquish earlier, the Member must continue in office until three months from receipt of the notice, until a duly appointed successor assumes office, or until expiry of the Member's term, whichever is earlier.
