Appointment of Chief Judicial Magistrate: framework for designation, delegation, and supervisory powers over magistrates in districts.

The High Court appoints a Chief Judicial Magistrate in every district and may designate a first-class Judicial Magistrate as an Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate with all or any powers of the Chief Judicial Magistrate as directed; it may also designate a first-class Judicial Magistrate as a Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate, who, subject to the Chief Judicial Magistrate's general control, exercises supervisory and control powers over other Judicial Magistrates in the sub-division as the High Court prescribes.
