Adulteration of food or drink: criminal liability for making articles noxious when intended for sale.

Offence of adulteration occurs when an article of food or drink is made noxious as food or drink, committed with intent to sell it as food or drink or with knowledge that it is likely to be sold as such; the penalty prescribed is imprisonment of either description up to six months, or a fine up to five thousand rupees, or both.
