Service of notice under section 142 may also be effected by the prescribed income tax authority, widening authorised servers.

Finance Act, 2021 inserts a proviso into section 142(1)(i) of the Income tax Act providing that a notice under that sub section for the purposes of the clause may also be served by the prescribed income tax authority, thereby expanding authorised servers for service of notices.
