Special economic zone customs security provision originally required bond, surety, or security for duty-free goods and transhipment.

Section 76K of the Customs Act, 1962 originally dealt with security for goods admitted free of duty to a special economic zone and goods under transhipment to and from such zone without payment of duty. It required execution of such bond, surety or security as specified in the rules. The provision was later omitted with effect from 11 May 2007.
