Rectification of errors apparent on the face of record permits authorities to correct clerical mistakes within prescribed time-limits.

Any authority issuing a decision, order, notice, certificate or other document may, on its own motion or when notified by an officer or affected person, rectify errors apparent on the face of the record within a prescribed period; where rectification adversely affects a person, the principles of natural justice apply, and an outer time-limit governs rectification except for clerical or arithmetical slips arising from accidental omission.
