Appellate tribunal reconstitution shifts appellate jurisdiction to an existing specialised telecom tribunal and omits standalone tribunal provisions.

The Finance Act, 2017 substitutes the definition of Appellate Tribunal to make the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal the appellate body for the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India Act, 2008; it replaces section 17 to vest appellate jurisdiction in that tribunal, omits sections 19-27 which provided for a separate appellate forum, and deletes clauses (i), (j) and (k) of section 51(2).
