Affidavits of illiterate or visually challenged persons require attester certification of reading, explanation or translation and understanding.

Affidavits by illiterate, visually challenged or language-unfamiliar persons must be certified by the attester that the affidavit was read, explained or translated to the deponent, that the deponent appeared to understand it, and that the deponent made their signature or mark in the attester's presence, with the attester's certification recorded in Form NCLT-14.
