Term of office: Chairperson and Members serve fixed terms, eligible for reappointment, subject to age limit and removal.

The Chairperson and Members serve a fixed term of three years from assumption of office and may be re-appointed, but shall not hold office after attaining sixty-five years; they must subscribe to a prescribed oath of office and secrecy before entry. They may resign by written notice to the Central Government or be removed under the statutory removal procedure, and their salaries, allowances and other service conditions, including for part-time Members, are to be prescribed.
