Power to remove difficulties enables central government to issue remedial orders subject to consistency and parliamentary review.

The Central Government may, by order published in the Official Gazette, make provisions not inconsistent with the Act to remove difficulties in giving effect to the Act; such orders are subject to a temporal limitation and must be laid before each House of Parliament. Equivalent powers, procedural publication and parliamentary laying requirements apply in relation to the Consumer Protection (Amendment) Act, 2002 for removing difficulties.
