International credit card use for overseas travel expenses remains outside rule 5 restrictions during visits abroad.

International Credit Card use for payments towards expenses while a person is visiting outside India is excluded from the restrictions under rule 5. The earlier statement preserving restrictions on card use for prohibited items was omitted, while the operative exclusion for eligible overseas travel expenses applies with effect from 16 May 2023.
