Settlement and arbitration awards bind parties, summoned persons, employers' successors, and current and future workers.

Section 57 provides that privately agreed settlements bind the contracting employer and worker, and enforceable arbitration awards bind the parties who referred the dispute. Settlements or enforceable awards from conciliation, arbitration, a Tribunal or National Industrial Tribunal bind all parties to the dispute, summoned parties unless improperly summoned, employer heirs/successors/assigns for the relevant establishment, and all workers employed on the dispute date as well as those who later become employed there.
