Removal of Member from office may be effected for insolvency, incapacity, conviction involving moral turpitude, conflict of interest, or abuse.

The Central Government may remove a Member from office for insolvency; physical or mental incapacity; conviction involving moral turpitude; acquisition of financial or other interests likely to prejudice functions; or abuse of position detrimental to public interest, and removal under the conflict-of-interest or abuse grounds requires that the Member be given a reasonable opportunity of being heard.
