This feature enables the jurisdictional authorities to effectively check unauthorized access or entry into Customs areas. However, it has been observed that many Customs Brokers and their authorized employees continue to use old physical Customs Passes as proof of identity while entering Customs-notified areas. 3. As a trade facilitation measure, and with a view to ensuring uniformity in Customs Passes, all Customs Brokers and their employees (F, G and H) working under the Chennai Customs Zone, in terms of Regulations 7 and 13 of CBLR, 2018, who have not yet opted for 'QR Code' Customs Passes are advised to apply for the same through the CBLMS portal. Applications may be submitted under the options "Issuance of Customs Pass" or "Renewal of Customs Pass," as applicable, after surrendering the existing/old Customs Passes. 4.
