....The notification amends the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Infrastructure Investment Trusts) Regulations, 2014, effective from publication in the Official Gazette. It revises the definition of certain investors by permitting a family trust or a Board-registered intermediary with net worth above INR 500 crore to qualify under the relevant category. It aligns the definition of "qualified institutional buyer" with that in the SEBI (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2018. It also expands the definition of "strategic investor" to include specified institutional and foreign portfolio investors and certain RBI-registered NBFCs investing at least 5% of the InvIT offer size, subject to FEMA compliance and inter-regulatory consultation where applicable.....
