....The Central Government has amended the export policy for specified Non-Basmati rice ITC (HS) codes to require registration of export contracts with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). Citing powers under Sections 3 and 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 and provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, the notification leaves the export classification as "Free" but conditions export permissibility on prior contract registration with APEDA; the amendment takes effect immediately.....
