....Both accused were acquitted of charges under Sections 7, 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 120-B IPC due to insufficient evidence. The prosecution failed to establish the demand and acceptance of illegal gratification beyond reasonable doubt. Testimony revealed no direct interaction between the complainant and accused no. 1 regarding the bribe, and the shadow pancha did not witness any bribe acceptance. The absence of call detail records corroborating alleged conversations further weakened the prosecution's case. Additionally, the online procurement process and prior receipt of the required certificate negated the claim of corrupt conduct. The Special Court's assessment of evidence was upheld as neither patently perverse nor erroneous. Consequently, the application for leave to appeal was denied, and the acquittal was maintained.....
