....CCI found prima facie evidence that TASMAC is abusing its dominant position in Tamil Nadu's beer market by limiting market access to certain brands, contravening Section 4(2)(c) of the Competition Act, 2002. Data revealed that Kals Breweries and SNJ Breweries brands commanded significantly higher procurement shares (increasing from 40.22% in 2021-22 to 56.76% in 2023-24) compared to other well-known brands. The Commission directed the Director General to investigate the matter under Section 26(1) of the Act and submit a report within 60 days, finding substance in allegations that TASMAC's preferential procurement practices potentially constitute an abuse of its monopolistic position.....
