....The circular issued by SEBI on May 24, 2024, addresses the sharing of real-time price data with third parties, particularly online gaming platforms using virtual trading services. Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) and market intermediaries must not share real-time price data unless necessary for market functioning or regulatory compliance. Agreements with entities receiving data must specify its use and be reviewed annually. Price data can be shared for educational purposes with a 1-day lag, without monetary incentives. Due diligence and legal safeguards are required to prevent misuse. MIIs must implement these norms within 30 days, make necessary amendments, and inform market participants. The circular is u/s 11(1) of SEBI Act 1992 to protect investor interests and regulate the securities market.....
