....-respondent is a company. The matter relates to the assessment year 1972-73. The accounting period ended on March 31, 1972. The assessment for the year 1972-73 was completed on January 30, 1974. The taxable income was assessed at a loss. Subsequently, the assessee filed an application to the Income-tax Officer that it had paid advance (income) tax in respect of the assessment year in question on which it had become entitled to receive interest under section 214 of the Income-tax Act, 1961. As this interest had not been allowed to it the assessee requested that an order under section 154 may be passed and the interest under section 214 be allowed to it.
