....bill discounting, hire purchase leasing, mutual funds and insurance agency. For the assessment year 2011-2012, the appellant filed its return income of Rs. 1,18,80,275/-. The case of the assessee was taken for scrutiny by issuing notice under Section 143(2) of the Income Tax Act, as the assessing officer completed the assessment disallowing the principal portion of rental income for Rs. 11,72,296/-. The basis for the order is that the assessing officer has treated the principal portion of lease rent as income from the leasing business and added it back to the total income of the appellant. The assessee filed an appeal. The Appellate Authority dismissed the tax appeal. The matter was taken up further before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal.....
