....l Cage (Quality Control) Order, 2017. (ii) This order shall come into force with effect from 01.10.2017. 2. Definitions - In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires - (a) "Act" means the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 (63 of 1986); (b) "appropriate authority" means - (i) An Officer not below the rank of an Under Secretary to the Government of India; (ii) An Officer not below the rank of the General Managers, District Industries Centre of a State Government; (iii) Directors or Commissioners of Industries of State Governments; (iv) An Officer nominated by the Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards.
