....nt - (1) These rules may be called the Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission (Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Chairman, Vice-Chairmen and Members) Rules 2000. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette. 2. Definitions. - In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires - * "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Commission; * "Vice-Chairman" means a Vice-Chairman of the Commission; * "Member" means a Member of the Commission; * "Commission" means the Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission constituted under Chapter V of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and Chapter XIV (A) of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) 3.
