Import of seconds and defectives of specified steel items is permitted through Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Nhava Sheva (JNPT) and ICD Tughlakabad, New Delhi. Such consignments must be accompanied by a pre shipment certificate from an inspection agency specified in Appendix 2G certifying description, material quality, chemical analysis, visual inspection, thickness, width and the ITC (HS) code.
