India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Phenol Imports from US, Korea, Taiwan; Effective Until March 18, 2008
The Government of India imposed an anti-dumping duty on phenol imported from the United States, Korea RP, and Taiwan, effective from September 19, 2007, to March 18, 2008. This decision followed findings that these imports were being sold in India below normal value, causing material injury to the domestic industry. The duty rates were specified in U.S. dollars per metric ton, varying by country of origin. The applicable exchange rate for duty calculation would be based on the rate specified by the Ministry of Finance at the time of the bill of entry presentation. This notification was later rescinded on March 3, 2008.
