      Summary: The Central Board of Excise & Customs substitutes three tariff tables in an existing customs notification, prescribing fixed tariff values in US dollars for listed imported commodities including various edible oils, crude soybean oil, brass scrap, poppy seeds, areca nuts, and unit values for gold and silver, thereby establishing declared valuation benchmarks for customs assessment.
      Summary: BRICS leaders emphasised international financial cooperation to boost global growth through coordinated participation in G 20 work streams, financial architecture and regulatory reforms. They stressed policy coordination on norm setting, crisis management and multilateral financing to protect emerging market interests and urged timely implementation of quota reviews. The meeting advanced proposals for institutional mechanisms including the BRICS Institute of Economic Research and Analysis and a BRICS Credit Rating Agency, and provided a multi stakeholder forum to discuss financing for development, innovation, financial markets and sustainable development cooperation.

      Rationalization of procedures in handling exporters obligations under EPCG authorizations
      Summary: Verification under the EPCG Scheme is to be streamlined: Customs shall normally accept EODCs issued by Regional Authorities without further re-verification, while restricting its own detailed checks and installation-certificate verifications to a limited random proportion of cases. Detailed Customs verification is required when indicated by specific intelligence, upon Regional Authority endorsement, or where EODCs are based on non-EDI shipping bills; field formations must use transparent senior-level selection criteria and promptly notify exporters selected for checks.

      Streamline the Boarding procedure-regarding
      Summary: Shipping agents must give advance notification of berthing time and vessel details to the Section Officer/(R&I) Officer, keep requisite documents ready for scrutiny, and advise masters to submit a prescribed feedback form. Boarding Officers will endorse commencement of operations by signing the Application for Entry Inward/Arrival Report immediately after boarding. The notice includes a feedback form template for vessel and officer details, qualitative ratings, grievance contacts, and a directive against offering compliments to customs officers.

      Amendment in Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 with regard to Refund Demand Adjudication Review Appeal and Audit
      Summary: Amendment provides that Refund, Demand, Adjudication, Review, and Appeal for authorised SEZ operations, transactions, goods and services shall be made by the jurisdictional Customs and Central Excise authorities under the Customs Act, the Central Excise Act and the Finance Act and related rules and notifications. It further mandates that audits of indirect tax matters in SEZs be conducted by customs officers drawn from a panel prepared by the jurisdictional Development Commissioner in consultation with the jurisdictional Chief Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise.
