Summary: Charges for meals supplied on trains under a fixed, board approved menu, offered in fixed quantities and times without passenger choice, and collected with the ticket fare, lack the characteristics of a catering service; limited acts of heating and serving do not create a significant service component, so such transactions are characterised as a sale of goods rather than a service subject to service tax.

Summary: The Companies Act incorporation options now include an integrated e form (INC 29) that combines DIN allotment, name approval and company incorporation for non Section 8 companies (allowing up to three new DIN applicants) with INC 30 and INC 31 attached for MOA and AOA. The traditional routine process remains, requiring DSC, DIN application, name reservation (INC 1), and filing of INC 7, INC 22 and DIR 12 with MOA, AOA, subscriber identity and address proofs, PAN, INC 8, INC 9, INC 10, registered address proof, directors' interest particulars, fees and subsequent INC 21 for commencement of business.

Summary: Rule 5 now allows optional preservation of service tax records in electronic form provided every page is authenticated by a digital signature, with 'authenticate' and 'digital signature' defined by the Information Technology Act; a notification will specify the conditions, safeguards and procedures for maintaining such digitally signed records.

Summary: Introduction of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) as eligible under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) allows SEBI-registered REITs to accept foreign investment into completed, rent-yielding real estate projects previously prohibited by FEMA, thereby enabling these structures to mobilize long-term foreign and domestic finance, including from non-resident investors, and to provide an alternate equity funding route that reduces reliance on bank financing.
Summary: The Central Board sets fixed rupee equivalents for specified foreign currencies to be used in conversion of values relating to imported and exported goods, effective from 8th May, 2015, superseding the prior notification. The instrument attaches two schedules: Schedule I lists per unit rupee equivalents for major currencies with separate import and export rates; Schedule II lists rupee equivalents per one hundred units for currencies quoted per hundred. The specified rates are to be employed by customs authorities and traders for assessment, clearance, and documentation of imported and exported consignments.
Summary: A sovereign loan agreement finances a multi year investment program to improve water availability in selected river basins through IWRM and irrigation modernization, funding modernization of a key irrigation system, implementing sub basin planning, monitoring and performance benchmarking, and building capacity and certification for water sector staff and user cooperatives, with external financing covering the principal share and state government co financing the balance.
Summary: Reserve Bank of India established the Reference Rate for the US dollar at Rs. 63.8800 on May 7, 2015 and, using that reference and middle cross currency rates, published rupee exchange rates for the euro, pound sterling and Japanese yen; the SDR-rupee rate is to be based on the reference rate.
Summary: An Expert Committee will inventory existing prior permissions, examine replacing them with a pre-existing or proposed regulatory mechanism, identify and integrate safeguards, recommend a framework for the proposed mechanism, and draft enabling legislation; public suggestions are invited to inform the process.
Summary: Foreign investment approval thresholds are restructured so that FIPB recommendations for moderate foreign equity inflows are considered by the Minister of Finance, while recommendations for larger inflows are placed before the CCEA; the CCEA may also consider referrals from the FIPB or the Minister, and the FIPB Secretariat in the Department of Economic Affairs will process recommendations to obtain approvals from the Minister of Finance and the CCEA.
Summary: A centrally directed, time bound implementation regime requires comprehensive action plans, multilayered periodic reviews and deployment of a web based monitoring platform, E-Samiksha, to enable real time supervision, grievance tracking and coordination across Railway Board, zonal and divisional levels for delivery of passenger service, safety, infrastructure and institutional reform measures.
Summary: The Government approved operationalisation and funding for APY, PMJJBY and PMSBY, including budgetary support for implementation, enrolment promotion and publicity. APY guarantees a minimum pension determined by contributions and age, with a limited period government co-contribution for eligible non taxpaying subscribers who join within the specified window, and spousal continuation and corpus return provisions. PMJJBY and PMSBY provide life and accidental-death/disablement coverage with premiums collected via bank account auto debit to facilitate broad enrolment.
Summary: The revised bilateral tax Agreement reallocates taxing rights by providing source based taxation of capital gains, residence based taxation of shipping income, service related permanent establishment rules, profit adjustments for associated enterprises under the arm's length principle, and rationalised treatment of Dividends, Interest, Royalties and Fees for Technical Services, while adding provisions for effective exchange of information, assistance in tax collection and a limitation of benefits clause to restrict treaty access to genuine residents.
