Export-only e-commerce inventory framework enables seller exports through registered exporters while requiring traceability, timely payments and domestic-diversion controls.
The export-only inventory framework permits eligible e-commerce entities to export through a registered Exporter-on-Record, which procures goods from Indian Sellers-on-Record against confirmed overseas orders and assumes export and destination-country compliance responsibilities. Inventory must be segregated, digitally traceable and cannot be diverted to domestic sale. The framework requires timely seller payments, visibility of overseas sales and shipment information, proportional pass-through of export rebates and refunds, annual compliance certification and digital records.

Neutral monetary policy stance continues as inflation clarity is awaited, alongside cooperative banking and lending-rate transparency measures.
Monetary policy maintained the benchmark policy repo rate and a neutral stance pending clearer evidence that energy-cost pressures will generate broad-based inflation. Inflation is expected to rise temporarily due principally to food and fuel prices before moderating, while core inflation remains benign. The approach remains data-dependent, supported by two-way liquidity operations. Proposed measures include resuming urban cooperative bank licensing, revising rural cooperative bank credit-monitoring directions, and harmonising interest-rate regulation on advances across regulated entities to improve transparency and consumer protection.

How NRIs Can Structure Bank Accounts in India When They Have Both Indian and Overseas Financial Commitments

Long-term goals like a home or retirement, family obligations back home, and salaries abroad often make Non-Resident Indians realise that the real challenge isn’t just making money, but structuring it. With a thoughtful approach to establishing banking relationships, managing financial commitments in India and abroad becomes much easier with clarity and confidence.

Understanding NRI Banking Needs Living abroad is rarely a complete severance from India. Many non-resident Indians continue to support parents, pay for a home loan, manage rental income, or hold long-term investments in India while planning for their life overseas. The banking setup must clearly separate the sources of income from the outlays of funds due to this dual function.

Key NRI Account Types In India The moment the residential status changes, a regular resident savings account is no longer suitable and needs to be converted or closed, and special NRI banking solutions need to be used. In general, there are three main types of bank accounts for non-resident Indians in India, each intended for a specific purpose.

• Non-Resident External (NRE) account: To park income earned abroad, remitted to India and converted into Indian Rupees. Interest income is exempt from income tax in India. Check eligibility and required documents before starting the NRE account opening process.

• Non-Resident Ordinary (NRO) account: For income earned in India, like rent, dividends, pension, or any income in India that has to be separately distinguished from the income earned overseas. Check eligibility and required documents before starting the NRO account opening process.

• Foreign Currency Non-Resident (FCNR) deposit: These deposits allow money to be maintained in a preferred foreign currency, which can help to guard savings against currency fluctuations but still keep them in an NRI banking relationship.

By mixing these accounts, you can manage income, investments, and remittances between India and the country of residence.

Linking Accounts To Indian and Overseas Commitments A structured banking setup becomes most powerful when it is anchored to real-life commitments both in India and abroad. Income streams and outflows can then be matched to the right account, with clear rules that keep daily decisions simple.

For example, many non-resident Indians channel their foreign income into an NRE account, draw from an NRO account through standing instructions to support family or domestic bills in India, and maintain FCNR deposits for medium-term savings that need to be protected from currency fluctuations. Expenses abroad, like rent abroad, local insurance, or schooling, still get linked to accounts and cards in the country of residence, so that Indian accounts are not constantly used for foreign spending.

Using NRI Banking for a Structured Approach NRI Banking can provide a consolidated platform where accounts, remittances, and investments are aligned to NRI-specific needs. Dedicated NRI offerings typically include an NRE savings account, an NRO savings account, and FCNR options, along with digital channels to manage them from anywhere in the world.

With the ability to open an NRI account online, non-resident Indians can use the Indian banking infrastructure while remaining compliant with NRI regulations. For many customers, an integrated relationship with a single bank simplifies oversight, as both India-based obligations and repatriation needs can be coordinated through one digital interface.

Role Of Personal Loan For NRI In Your Plan Even with a disciplined savings plan, certain goals may need financing support, especially when timelines are tight or when major life events arise. In such situations, a personal loan for NRI can offer an additional lever to bridge funding gaps while staying aligned with broader financial goals.

For instance, a non-resident Indian might prefer to preserve FCNR deposits for future security while using a personal loan to handle a time-bound expense in India, such as medical costs or home improvement. When used carefully and repaid through a clearly mapped cash flow from overseas income or Indian earnings, borrowing can sit alongside savings accounts and deposits as part of a balanced NRI banking strategy.
