Territorial jurisdiction requires material cause-of-action facts, not incidental business connections, in challenges to advertising regulatory notices.
Territorial jurisdiction in challenges to regulatory show-cause notices requires a substantial and material connection between the dispute and the forum. A company's registered office, payment arrangements, campaign management, or engagement of brand ambassadors do not confer jurisdiction when they have no direct bearing on the validity of notices issued elsewhere. Incidental or background facts cannot be presented as a cause of action. Forum conveniens favours the forum most closely connected with the regulator, the notice recipients, the alleged activity and the asserted statutory violations.

Plant-based protein adequacy depends on varied, calorie-adequate eating patterns, with supplements reserved for defined dietary gaps.
Plant-based protein adequacy depends on the overall eating pattern, including dietary diversity, calorie sufficiency, digestibility, meal composition, and individual life-stage and health needs, rather than protein grams or individual-food labels. Protein-quality scores and high-protein claims do not by themselves establish nutritional quality. Focused assessment is needed for persons at greater risk of inadequate intake, including children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, older adults, and persons with restricted intake or illness. Supplements should be used selectively only where food cannot meet a defined dietary gap.

Organic grocery traceability supports pan-India delivery through certified sourcing, batch testing, and customer access to product laboratory reports.
Organic grocery delivery is positioned as requiring a proof-led supply chain rather than a speed-driven quick-commerce model. Delivery convenience is intended to operate without displacing verification processes supporting organic-product claims. Batch-level laboratory testing for banned chemical and pesticide residues forms a pre-sale control within the supply chain, while QR-code access to product laboratory reports is intended to give customers traceable evidence of testing. The model combines app-based doorstep delivery with certified sourcing, manufacturing controls, residue testing and consumer-facing verification.

Territorial jurisdiction over surrogate advertising notices is contested where regulatory directions target brand ambassadors rather than the advertiser.
Territorial jurisdiction over show-cause notices alleging surrogate advertising of Vimal Pan Masala through Vimal Elaichi endorsements is contested before the Delhi High Court. PB Agro LLP maintains that directions to provide documentation, stop the campaign and remove digital promotional material were issued only to brand ambassadors, without hearing the company. It disputes the state regulator's jurisdiction and asserts that Vimal Elaichi is distinct from pan masala. The Centre and the Central Consumer Protection Authority contend that the Bombay High Court has territorial jurisdiction.

Biometric Aadhaar authentication becomes mandatory for GST registration to prevent fraudulent use of stolen taxpayer identity credentials.
GST registration is prohibited, for the time being, unless biometric-based Aadhaar authentication is completed. The requirement applies across the country and addresses fraudulent registrations obtained through misuse of PAN and Aadhaar details. Biometric authentication is treated as necessary to curb fake registrations, revenue loss and harassment caused by identity misuse. Authorities may raise objections concerning practical difficulties in implementation.

Surrogate advertising allegations challenge notices targeting brand ambassadors and raise jurisdiction and hearing concerns for product promoters.
Challenge to surrogate advertising allegations concerns notices requiring brand ambassadors promoting Vimal Elaichi to prove that it differs from prohibited pan masala, halt promotions, and remove digital materials. The product promoter contests the notices because they were addressed only to the actors, it was not heard, and the regulator allegedly lacked jurisdiction to stop the advertisements. Territorial jurisdiction to entertain the challenge is also contested.

SED will execute the design, engineering, equipment supply, erection and commissioning of the sugar crystallization section on an accelerated timeline, with key equipment dispatch targeted by 15 September and plant commissioning scheduled by 31 October 2026.

MOHALI, India, Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- In an industry where steam economy, process stability, and recovery efficiency directly determine plant profitability, Shivshakti Sugars Limited, Belagavi, Karnataka, has placed its trust in Spray Engineering Devices Limited (SED) for strengthening of the evaporator station and addition of a sugar crystallization section for 7500 TCD in existing syrup production plant. The project will support the plant's conversion to plantation white sugar production at 340 TCH, marking a significant step toward higher efficiency and modernized sugar manufacturing.

"For us at SED, engineering has never been about supplying equipment; it is about owning performance. With Shivshakti Sugars, we are bringing together process design, energy efficiency, and operational control in a way that works at plant scale. The aim is simple: build systems that run reliably and help sugar producers operate more efficiently and at greater scale," said Mr. Vivek Verma, Managing Director, SED.

Under the proposed scope, SED will supply and commission a comprehensive process package covering condensate juice heater, falling film evaporator, condensate heat recovery, spray continuous pan for A, B & C massecuite, vacuum, sealing and vertical crystallizers with associated automation. The package includes condensate heaters, two 5,000 m² falling film evaporators, three Spray Continuous Pans with capacities of 110, 45 and 35 TPH, at A, B and C massecuite duty respectively along with vacuum, air-cooled and vertical crystallizers for low grade massecuite.

The technology package is designed to utilise low-grade vapour more effectively and improve process control. SED's Spray Continuous Pan technology enables continuous massecuite boiling with individual chamber control of vapour, temperature, level and consistency, while the evaporator system includes recirculation and provisions for online chemical cleaning.

SED will undertake design and engineering for its supplied equipment, along with transportation, erection, and commissioning. The plant will be commissioned by October 31, 2026, with provisions linked to schedule performance.

The project represents another application of SED's integrated process engineering approach in the sugar sector, combining equipment design, energy-saving systems and process automation within a single plant-level solution.
