Effect of DRC resolution: AO must implement committee directions, revise assessments and initiate penalty and demand proceedings.

On receipt of the Dispute Resolution Committee's order the Assessing Officer must determine the assessed income and, where the specified order is a draft proposed assessment, pass an order of assessment, reassessment or recomputation, or in other cases modify the order of assessment, reassessment or recomputation to conform with the DRC's directions, with such action taken within one month from the end of the month in which the order is received; consequential penalty proceedings and issuance of demand notice follow as applicable.
