Denotification of container and freight facilities requires prescribed application, nodal coordination, and disposal within a time bound framework.

Custodians must apply to the jurisdictional Principal Commissioner/Commissioner of Customs in the prescribed format and nominate a nodal officer who will reconcile facility records, coordinate disposal or shifting of uncleared, detained, seized or confiscated goods, and endeavour to ensure disposal within four months; pending Cost Recovery Charges must be paid and bonds/security remain live until resolution of any liabilities, with revocation of approvals under Sections 8 and 45 and forwarding of de notification proposals as required.
