Merchant Exporter Must Register with Excise, Furnish Bond, and Obtain CT-1 Form for Exports: Notification 42/2001-CE A merchant exporter, operating as an Export Oriented Unit (EOU), inquired about the necessity of a CT-1 form when purchasing goods from Indian suppliers for export. The exporter, unregistered with the Excise Department, questioned whether it was mandatory to comply with the CT-1 form requirements or if a certificate stating the goods are for export would suffice. Responses indicated that furnishing the CT-1 form is mandatory. The exporter must register with the Central Excise, furnish a bond, and obtain the CT-1 form as per Notification No. 42/2001-CE for exporting goods. (AI Summary)

Sir Please clrify this Also

Since we are a merchant exporter ( unregistered firm with Excise Deptt) and place the order with excise registered manufacturer

Who wish to furnish CT-1 form duly endorsed by Excise Deptt.  Being an unregistered firm, is this mandatory to comply with

CT-1 form for the excise registered manufacturer or will a certificate stating the “order placed with you for Export only” will

Suffice their (Manufacturer) compliance requirement.

Furnishing CT - 1 is mandatory and one must get registered with CE, furnish a bond and obtain CT - 1 as per 42/2001 for exporting the goods.
