Preparation of LR in E1C transaction.

Bhalchandra Ramdasi

Respected Sirs,

In our transaction there are four parties - Our Vendor, ourself, our customer & end customer. We have to dispatch the material from our vendor to end customer. In this case how the Lorry Receipt will be prepared.

Can we mention end customer as consignee in Lorry Receipt? If not why?

Thanks,

Guidance on Lorry Receipt: Avoid Listing End Customer as Consignee in E-1 and E-2 Transactions for Safety. In a transaction involving four parties-vendor, intermediary, customer, and end customer-the query concerns the preparation of a Lorry Receipt (LR) for dispatching materials directly from the vendor to the end customer. The question is whether the end customer can be listed as the consignee on the LR. The response advises against disclosing the end customer in transit sales (E-1 and E-2 transactions) due to potential risks. Instead, the LR should be endorsed to a third party without taking physical delivery, who will then endorse it to the end user. (AI Summary)
