No Need to Inform Excise Department About Plant Shutdowns Under Current Rules, Voluntary Notification Advised A query was raised regarding the necessity of informing the Central Excise Department about plant shutdowns for preventive maintenance or declaring non-production days due to low demand or excess stock. The response indicated that while older regulations required such notifications, current rules do not mandate them. However, it is suggested to voluntarily provide this information to avoid potential future issues. (AI Summary)
