sales return / unfructified sales - diff

venkat eswaran

Sir,

waht is difference between sales return and unfructified sales in relation with SALES TAX ANGLE.

Understanding 'Sales Return' vs. 'Unfructified Sales' in Sales Tax: Key Differences Explained A participant in a discussion forum inquired about the distinction between 'sales return' and 'unfructified sales' concerning sales tax. One response explained that a sales return involves returning goods due to quality or quantity issues. In contrast, unfructified sales are void from the start, often due to non-payment or failure to meet mercantile law conditions. Another response clarified that unfructified sales occur when goods are returned because the intended recipient did not take delivery, whereas sales returns typically happen due to quality concerns or other reasons. Well, Sale Return means, returning the goods on quality or quantity reasons, where unfructified sales is void at ab-initio (i.e. due to non payment of sale and non fulfilment of conditions of mercantile laws).

"unfructified sales" means where the goods sold are returned for the reason that they were not taken delivery of by the person to whom they were intended and "sales return" on normal basis means return due to inferior quality or by some other reason.
