Can an affidavit be withdrawn

PANKAJ GROVER

Dear Sir

Can an affidavit given be withdrawn?

Regards

RAPG & Co.

Withdrawal of affidavit possible when circumstances change; execute a fresh affidavit and consult counsel first. Where circumstances materially change so that the original sworn assertions no longer hold, one may execute a fresh affidavit that supersedes or cancels the earlier affidavit; full disclosure of material facts is required and legal advice should be sought before altering sworn statements in court proceedings. If the circumstances under which affidavit was sworn has changed subsequently and the statement made in affidavit no more holds good due to the change circumstances, i feel one can execute a fresh affidavit cancelling the earlier .  However, be careful in court matters &  consult your lawyer before withdrawing affidavit.
