Service Tax Input Credit Can Be Used Within Same Half-Year Period for Monthly Payments, Clarified. A user inquired about the possibility of using service tax input credit from a previous month when preparing monthly payments, specifically when no service tax was collected in the registration month but was collected in the following month. A respondent clarified that input credit can be availed within the same period of payment, meaning it is permissible to use the input credit from the same half-year period for which the service tax return is being filed. The original user expressed gratitude for the clarification. (AI Summary)
