Manpower Service Provider Debates Need for Separate GST Registration for New Contract in Madhya Pradesh A query was raised regarding whether a business providing manpower services in Maharashtra, which has GST registration there, needs separate GST registration in Madhya Pradesh upon receiving a new contract. Responses varied: one advised that separate registration is necessary to avoid losing input tax credit (ITC) on local procurements, while others suggested it is not required, as services can be billed under IGST. It was noted that not having registration in Madhya Pradesh could lead to loss of ITC on local CGST and SGST, and additional compliance costs should be considered. (AI Summary)
