Union Budget 2025 introduces revised income-tax rates, expanded surcharges, crypto reporting and customs assessment reforms. The Finance Bill, 2025 updates income-tax slab rates and surcharge bands, applies a four per cent Health and Education Cess, revises withholding and collection thresholds and rates across many TDS/TCS provisions, introduces crypto-asset reporting obligations and due-diligence registration for reporting entities, sets time-limits and verification procedures for provisional customs assessment with a voluntary post-clearance entry revision mechanism, establishes Interim Boards to settle pending applications, and inserts CGST track-and-trace and related procedural amendments.
