Has charity included pay gst

Chiran Kumar

Hello sir ... We are running a non profit organisation under registration of 12AAA, and 80G

My doubt is we are running special school in rented building, so has we should pay GST with rent.. by chance if we payed can we reclaimed it..

I hope you oblige my request..

Thank you..

Non-profit must pay GST on rent for special school building despite 12AAA and 80G registration exemptions. A non-profit organization, registered under sections 12AAA and 80G, inquired about the applicability of GST on rent for a rented building used as a special school. The first response clarified that services provided by entities registered under section 12AA of the Income-tax Act are exempt from GST, but services received, such as rental services, are not exempt. Therefore, if GST is charged by the building owner, the organization must pay it. The second response confirmed that GST is indeed chargeable on the rent. (AI Summary)
